The Open University's recent course additions spurred me to do some
work on our public facing http://OERu.org/ web site:
1. Upgraded SilverStripe to 3.1.15
2. Fixed the credit/badge display (which it turns out have been
reversed since the site was created) (issue #1)
3. Added a "self-paced" checkbox, so that courses can have an
"available from" rather than just "start date" (issue #4)
4. Made course "end date" optional (appears common in the OU
self-paced courses) (issue #6)
5. Started on adding some formatting consistency on "estimated start
date" (issue #3)
I also took the opportunity to:
1. Delete a draft prospective partner page that someone had
accidentally published
2. Deleted a couple of draft courses that had appeared in the course list
3. Pushed a number of courses that were "estimated" to start in 2015Q3
and 2015Q4 to 2016Q1.
I think it is exceptionally bad marketing to let the OERu.org course
list look so out of date and/or unmaintained. Perhaps we should make
the course list in the wiki the "one source of truth" and use a script
to push data to OERu.org. That would eliminate the need for
institutions to have to interact with it directly.
