Friends & Colleagues,
I hope that all is well. First, I thought that the meeting we had last week
was great. I am sorry for the delay with circulating notes and stuff.โฆ no
excuses. The following are the notes the Janine took regarding the OSS
production meeting:
- Pat and Clark are in the process of developing a course in Moodle Cloud
- Includes discussion forums
- Export as a common cartridge
- Facilitated course
- Asynchronous (we were talking about how we can evolve the OSS course to
meet the needs of different pedagogical approaches.)
- Wayne will forward the course specification document
- USQ will need to outline integration with current curriculum
- Determination of hours required ie 120 vs 160 (US)
- OERu requirement is that it is asynchronous for independent study
- Wiki educator log in
- Wayne to send link
- Is teacher access required to access Patโs moodle course?
- Requirement for a course that is easily redeployable internal and external to
reduce barriers
- Open source software available from OERu
I will mention that Adrian Stagg will be leading the effort from USQ and will
be/has been coordinating the effort. Pat and I will be chatting soon to
catch-up on the course and OSI. I am not sure if Pat or Clark have been able to
provide Adrian with a link to the OSS course syllabus that Pat and Clark are
working. I do know that it would be great.
Wayne, thanks, I know that you have set everything up from OERu. As usual,
Wayne is being the perfect open partner!!
Everybody should have access to the OSS Production course site that Wayne
distributed. If you cannot find the notice/invitation, just ask. I am looking
forward to seeing this effort progress. In the meantime, if you have any
questions, please feel free to work in the project site, send me a note, or
send something to Adrian (if you want a good and timely response) :-)
Have a great weekend!!!!
