Hi everyone,
I've had another productive weekend and have completed the learning pathways
for LiDA103. See:
http://course.oeru.org/lida103/learning-pathways/why-open-matters/overview/
Ray's learners participating in the Otago Polytechnic iteration of LiDA will
have access to the learning pathways for "Open education, copyright and open
licensing in a digital world" well ahead of their study schedule.
The course materials for LiDA103 were remixed from the OERF's "Open content
licensing for Educators" materials, but with a major face lift incorporating
the following improvements:
1) Updating the materials taking recent developments into account, most notably
version 4.0 of the Creative Commons licenses.
2) Optimising the content for mobile devices replacing complex tables and other
elements which were not ideal for responsive design.
3) Shifting the focus to be more learner centred to accommodate diverse
audiences
4) Incorporating a new learning pathway on "Dimensions of openness" to replace
a former pathway on the philosophical underpinnings of choosing the "right"
license better suited for the pedagogic of discovery.
In our open design traditions at OERu, please feel free to correct typos
directly on the wiki. If you have any suggestions for substantive changes,
please post these on the corresponding talk page in the wiki or by reply to
this post.
NEXT STEPS
1) I will proceed to complete the front matter (course guide, course
announcements etc.) for LiDA 102, 103, and 104
2) Design and publish OERu assessments for each of the microcourses that will
map to the Edubits templates based on the assessment design shared earlier in
the forum:

All up - I'm happy with the course resources for LiDA - this will become a
showcase course for the OERu.
